TITLE: THE KING OF THE SEA
               AUTHOR: NANDAN GAUTAM
“ The king of the sea “ is a metaphysical novel. I first downloaded the sample of the book and after reading just a few lines, I immediately decided to read it.
The metaphysical novel is based on the philosophy and involves extraordinary elements of nature like spirits. it assumes an existence beyond this physical world and examines the power of mind over matter.
“Love ‘s grandest purpose is not its fulfilment as a man and a woman.
But in finding it within your heart
So that it may grow forth .”.
Well, this book is a metaphysical novel with musical odyssey and this is the first time I read this kind of genre and I am really in love with this book. This is really a different book where you just don’t take the book and read the story but you feel each and every word .poems are really soulful and will melt your heart. Don’t read it in rush but take your time and soak yourself in the essence of the book. it is a very inspiring read that will evolve you spiritually, psychologically and will have a deep impact on how you see the love and the world. though I am fascinated by prose, two liners of this book. they took my heart but could not really connect to the story. As I could not understand the story so I came with my version of the story that this is the story of the afterlife when he left his body and was taken by the captain of the ship to his final destination but till the end, he could not leave the part of himself that was tying him to the mortal world.
I really love the cover of the book  . its blue colour is really attractive and soothing to the eyes.
Language is easy and narration is smooth.
The novel is clearly depicting the author ‘s vision towards life and it is really soulful.
Read these books for heart touching lines . while reading this book there would be some line that can really heal your soul and force you to think about so many things of life and nature.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

The cover is an attraction.
The title is apt to the story.

TITLE:  UNDER THE MANGO TREE
AUTHOR: BINA PILLAI
QOTD – what should a girl do, if her mother faces domestic violence ???

This book is perfectly describing the condition of women in our society, where they are not even free to take the most important decisions of their lives like getting married, choosing career .. parents just find a perfect groom according to social expectations and the money balance he has but does not care if they would be compatible. It is just like a game of gamble. if you get a good partner then you win,  but if you are not compatible then you need to learn the adjustment. But parents often closed their eyes when their daughter suffers from violence, abuse at home.
This is a story of Diya Nair who is an eighteen-year-old, married against her wishes to a conservative man Rajgopal but she is in love with Aditya .despite everything, she tries to adjust in Rajgopal ‘s ancestral house, winning his family over and even changing some of their regressive practices .she gives her all to her marriage and is blesses with beautiful kids who is now the reason of happiness of her life but his husband continues to break her spirit.

She faces everything in her marriage and tries to save her marriage just for the sake of happiness of her kid but I must say that no one should remain in an abusive marriage for the sake of children because being in an abusive environment does more harm to kids than good. Her mind returns to the thought of Aditya with whom she has spent beautiful time of her life. Destiny gives them another chance of love. Will Diya take a chance of her happiness or she will continue with the life she is adjusting to ???

This book is covering the issues related to the women and how tragic is that this story is set in 1975 but still today many women can relate to the situation. how families can demand dowry and the younger generation does not have any objection.
The cover is beautiful and the storyline is really good. language is clear and narration is smooth. This book is highly recommended from my side.

TITLE: YOU BENEATH YOUR SKIN
AUTHOR: DAMYANTI BISWAS
“The wise are guided by what they feel and not by what they see”
“Follow the example of water: pause and gather strength, until an obstacle no longer presents a challenge .”
This book has kept me engaged until the very end. It is showing the cruel faces of society through a fictional story. Acid attacks, Rape, mutilating bodies, male dominating society, prostitution, broken families, haunting scars of childhood, corruption of the system, neglected parenting, bond deeper than blood relations are reflected in the novel. it is showing the harsh realities of life that we try to overlook just to keep going with our lives until we cannot escape them and the only option left is facing them.
Indian American single mother lives in Delhi with her autistic son Nikhil and juggles between taking care of his needs and her job as a psychiatrist. She is in long term relationship with an ambitious joint commissioner officer Jatin who is a proud father of his son, Varun. Anjali is closed to his sister Maya and has good bonding with his wife too. Their secret relationship has the potential to damage the entire world of both of them.
Kudos to the author for keeping it closest to the reality and giving us a glimpse of the harsh reality of the system and the loopholes with the law and order. I did not like the end but then who likes the harsh dose of reality? Sad but true, it happens in our society. Sometimes people who believe blood is thicker than water makes mistakes and more than for others, they bring harm to themselves but till then the irreversible damage is done and who is accountable for that??
It is dealing with the scars of childhood that leaves a huge imprint on our personality. Despite disliking his father, Jatin reflects his nature. Negligence of parents towards their children sometimes lead them to take disastrous steps that no money can change .it is important that elder inculcate good habits in children and be an example just not a preacher.
I highly recommend this book but be ready for facing the harsh reality of life because this book will stir your soul and make you restless but you will fall in love with some of the traits of characters. Despite all the chaos, there is still warmth in this book and I am sure you are gonna love it.
